Directions to the city center location and the home of Steve

The hostel (also my home) is very near the soccer stadium in the center of the town. You can walk to the stadium in about 20 minutes from the train/bus station.

I recommend you walk and just ask people where the town center is, then where the stadium is. You will probably find most people are very happy to help you and you will see how friendly Montenegran people are.

Once you get neat the stadium you will see the gas station. (There is only one near the stadium.) From there, go to the sidewalk which goes around the stadium and follow it to your right.

In less than a minute you will come to the end of the stadium. (If you pass the Podgorica Bridge Club facing the stadium you are going the right way.)

When you reach the end of the stadium and the sidewalk, keep walking straight for about 25 steps and on your right you will see a palm tree and a yellow building with an opening into a courtyard. Enter the courtyard and the hostel is the second door on the right, Number 60

If you have any problems, ask someone where the old church St. George is. Everyone knows this landmark. The hostel is very close to the church, between it and the soccer stadium.

By Taxi

A taxi from the bus/train station should cost you about 1.5 Euros. Normally drivers use the meter. If they don't it is probably a bad sign and they will probably try to over charge you. The drivers just in front of the bus station seem to charge the most. A little to the right and closer to the train station there are usually taxis from the company "Bel" which seem to be more honest. Some of them also know my place now.

Please note that most taxi drivers don't seem to know the name of the street the hostel is on (so I have taken if off the top of the page here) or they /know of another street with the same name on the other side of town. I'd say it's probably better to tell them the "pumpa" near Buduchnost football stadium in the center of town. "Pumpa" means gas station. Or tell them St. George Church. By the way, driving around the soccer stadium to get to the church takes a little extra time and money so if you want to save, have them drop you off at the gas station and walk the last two minutes.

St George Church in Serbian is "Crkva Svetog Djordja". This sounds something like Serkva Suhvetog Georga ...

If you really want to know the street address it is 19th of December, Number 60.
